The primary function of this position is competent
administration of state and local regulations governing DHCDs public programs.
In addition to general office duties this staff person is
responsible for qualification, briefing, annual and interim re-certifications, lease

Applicants should have demonstrated work experience in public or assisted housing. Applicants should have
excellent communication and critical thinking skills, the ability to work independently, to interpret and implement regulations and policies, and experience working with a
variety of populations.

Applicants must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation. A college
degree in social sciences or business is desirable.
Multilingual skills are a plus.

This full time position requires 37.5 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with

The Town of Wales (pop. 1886) is seeking a qualified
professional to fill the part-time position of Town Accountant. Appointed by the Select Board and serving under the direction of the Select Board. The Town Accountant is responsible for maintaining and controlling all town expenditures and financial records, as well as revenue forecasting and documentation. Responsibilities include oversight of bi-weekly payroll and bi-weekly warrant (accounts payable) preparation, financial monitoring of the budget;
maintaining comprehensive
financial records; generating
required periodic reports;
assisting with annual budget preparation.
The position requires extensive knowledge of municipal
accounting, Massachusetts
municipal finance laws, and thorough understanding of the Uniform Municipal Accounting System (UMAS), GAAP, GASB, DOR regulations and applicable Massachusetts General Laws. CGA designation and
experience with VADAR
Systems is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor degree in
accounting, finance , or related fields; two to five years of
experience in accounting or
financial management,
preferably in a municipal
setting; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate would possess prior budgeting experience at the department or division level to include budget preparation, implementation and monitoring.
