'A better job' communicating key to school plan

SOUTHBRIDGE — Superintendent Eric Ely's update presentation on where things stand for the school district's strategic plan indicated a very mixed bag of activity on a wide range of issues, many of them either required for or dependent on federal funding.

Some, however, simply reflect issues the district has been struggling with for years, particularly communication. Those issues tended to spark some muttering in the audience.

"School-wide issues are an area we haven't gotten much into," Ely admitted upon introducing a goal calling for creating "support teams" in all schools tasked with "how to improve the buildings."
