SOUTHBRIDGE — You might call them a very close-knit group — although their numbers can vary from week to week, and strangers are more than welcome to join them.

The regular members of Knitting with Sonja gather in the Reading Room at Jacob Edwards Library every Tuesday morning for a couple of hours of handcrafting and socializing.

Sonja Zegarra is the namesake and unofficial head of the group, which has been at the library for about five years, though different members have been participating for various lengths of time – and for various reasons.
