SOUTHBRIDGE — To Denise Clemence, three years on the Town Council has been "a real learning process," that she hopes the voters will allow her to continue.

"We have to take responsibility for our future. If we don't in 2012, it could be bleak," she said. She describes herself as "a pessimistic optimist. I do believe we can get what we want, but you have to ask every question."

Clemence is seeking re-election June 26 as part of a field of seven. The other candidates are fellow incumbent Larry Spinelli, former councilor Steven Lazo, web designer Amelia Peloquin, teacher Shaun Moriarty, information tech guy Dennis Martinek, and unemployed restaurant manager Jean Heid. Incumbent David Livengood did not seek re-election.
