SOUTHBRIDGE — You can see her purple and black signs around town, but it's still not uncommon to hear someone ask, "Who's Jean Heid?"

In short, she's long-time restaurant manager (unemployed at the time of interview) running for Town Council "to make a difference," she said. "The slightest bit of difference is a step toward my goal."

Heid is one of seven council candidates on the June 26 ballot. She faces fellow challengers Amelia Peloquin, Shaun Moriarty, Dennis Martinek, long-time former councilor Steven Lazo, and incumbents Denise Clemence and Larry Spinelli for three seats. One of the challengers will definitely get in because incumbent David Livengood did not seek re-election.
