SOUTHBRIDGE — In a debate marked by mutual respect, three challengers and one of the two incumbents for School Committee shared their ideas of what it would take to move the district forward Saturday afternoon, June 9.

In essence, they were answering the same call incumbent Jack Jovan said drew him to town affairs 10 years ago: "You can't just stand on the sidelines. If you want solutions, you have to come to the table."

Jovan faced off with newcomer LeAnn Pate and long-time behind-the-scenes school activists Lauren McLoughlin and Kara Donovan. Fellow incumbent David DiGregorio did not attend, and there was no indication why.
