STURBRIDGE — A handful of fundraising events were held over the weekend to mark the anniversary of last year's tornado and to support ongoing recovery efforts.

Back of the Pack Productions (BOTPP), of Sturbridge, hosted a fundraiser dinner on Friday, June 1 and a 50-mile relay race through tornado ravaged communities the next day. Despite the downpours that soaked the area throughout the day, all of the teams that signed up completed the race to benefit the cause.

"The rain aside, everyone showed incredible teamwork and support. The runners got together in full force and had a great time despite the rain," said BOTPP president Deborah Williams.
