SOUTHBRIDGE — Hopefully correcting a few problems that occurred last time they tried this, the Town Council unanimously supported hiring three new police officers Monday, June 4.

They also ratified more than $400,000 in high-tech spending for the middle/high school project, authorizing installation of equipment that will make the school "among the most advanced in the state," School Business Manager Terry Wiggins said.

Wiggins said every teacher and administrator will get a computer — most of them small laptops that double as tablets — and there will be enough for around half of the school's 1,100 students.
