BRIMFIELD — On the one-year anniversary of the June 1, 2011 tornado, town officials, emergency responders, politicians, and residents met at Village Green Family Campground to remember all that was lost and pray for better fortunes moving forward.

No place was more appropriate for such a remembrance, as the campground was the site of the only fatality in Brimfield during the tornado. Virginia "Ginger" Darlow was killed that afternoon, and her longtime partner, Richard Reim — as well as her campground family and other attendees of the event — took the time to remember her on Friday evening.
