Conference brings workforce agencies together

STURBRIDGE — It doesn't take much to see this economy is particularly hard on the poor and unskilled.

That was why agencies from across the state gathered at the Host Hotel Monday for the Sharing Skills Building Connections conference, throwing around ideas for youth, employers, colleges and even released prisoners.

According to organizer Ann Donner of the Community Economic Development Assistance Corp., current needs require "innovative [ideas] at a time when there are diminishing resources," yet they also need to be quick, because people need jobs now.
