SOUTHBRIDGE — "We're really looking to invite unchurched people and let God do the work," said Wayne Gallagher, one half of the husband-wife team announcing their recent "planting" of a church in Southbridge.

Their "nontraditional" New Vision Church is currently holding services in a somewhat unconventional setting – in rented space at 12 Crane Street, better known for its cigars, brew pub, and frequently loud music.

The Gallaghers (Yvette is the other half) recently introduced some loud (read: jubilant) music of their own as part of their first worship service at that site. Though services will be only monthly through the summer, by September they hope to begin weekly worship services, which are open not only to official members, but to anyone in the community looking for answers, fellowship, refreshments ("We have the best cupcakes you've ever had") uplifting music, or just an hour of respite from the woes of a weary world.
