SOUTHBRIDGE — You could hear the "oohs," "aahs" and "wows" as a small group of local real estate agents and others saw each new feature of the new middle/high school, or heard about those not yet installed Thursday, April 26.

"This is something I've wanted to live to see — a new school," said one of them, Jean LaCoste. "All we hear [from house hunters] is that 'We'd like to move to Southbridge, but the school system....' With this, young families won't be afraid to move in."

Although she already lives here, Amelia Peloquin has one of those young families, with two toddler children. Taking her first tour of the building, she said she was equally excited by the prospect of them growing into this school in several years.
