Budget sparks concern about SHS reuse

SOUTHBRIDGE — Although the budget numbers tend to be rather strenuous reading for most people, some of the little details can have a notable impact down the road.

That will probably be true with the 19 sections of the town budget combining for more than $8 million the General Government subcommittee debated Wednesday evening, April 25. Among the issues raised were soon-to-be-vacant school buildings, human resources, insurance and elections.

Regarding the first of those, citizen member Stephanie DeMartino was particularly concerned that the schools intend to keep teaching some students at the old high school.
