April 29, 2012 SOUTHBRIDGE — David Scheinfeldt was one of those people who called everybody a "friend."
Despite having died in July 2009, he gave a huge gift to some of those friends last weekend, when Central Baptist Church dedicated a new handicapped-access elevator funded by his sister in his name.
"He used to call me many Sunday mornings to tell me his legs hurt and he couldn't got to church because he couldn't make it up the stairs," said his sister, Barbara Dolan of Charlton. "Church was very important to him, a great social outlet for him."
