Resident demands consequences for Bishop, Lazo

April 26, 2012
SOUTHBRIDGE — A local resident used the School Committee's citizen's comment period to request that the high school principal be suspended over the Jacobson arbitration and member Scott Lazo be disciplined for "several violations of the ... Code of Ethics."

Erin Quinney, who has an elementary-age son in the system, said she was upset over Lazo's comments at the April 10 meeting regarding the high school's lunch program, particularly one in which he said, "This is not about the 30 percent [who can pay], it's about the 70 percent free lunch," he said, later adding, "We always cater to the bottom end and leave out the middle. The high end is doing well."
