STURBRIDGE — With a talented cast and crew under his direction, local filmmaker Sean Comerford has high hopes for his upcoming production of "Alive," a film he conceived of and is in the process of directing.

Comerford, a Tantasqua Regional High School graduate and senior at Fitchburg State University, said the idea for his film was inspired by the classic novels Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, as well as the 1971 George Lucas science fiction film THX 1138.

"Alive" focuses on a man who attempts to find meaning in a dystopian society where everyone tells him that life is nothing more than a meaningless series of events strung together along a path toward death.
