Committee aims to mesh policies for reorganization

District seeking input on discipline

April 08, 2012
SOUTHBRIDGE — The schools are seeking public help to revamp the discipline code and standardize it to suit this year's reconfiguration process.

"This is quite outdated," observed Superintendent Eric Ely. "It would be good to get everybody back together" to fix it.

School Committee member Pat Woodruff, chairman of the policy subcommittee, said she's willing to create a group very similar to the one that recently researched and made recommendations on the reconfiguration process to look at this issue. She foresees it including administrators, teachers, a couple students and some community members/parents, noting it could start meeting as early as May if people come forward soon enough.
