'Come in and pull papers'

Town elections need candidates

April 02, 2012
SOUTHBRIDGE — This year's town elections are still in need of people at this point, about halfway through the signature-gathering period.

As of Thursday night, March 29, there were just five candidates who had returned and certified the 44 signatures necessary to get on the ballot — incumbent Councilor Larry Spinelli and newcomer Shaun Moriarty, incumbent School Committee member Jack Jovan and newcomer Leanne Pate, and incumbent Town Clerk Madeline Daoust. Three others have taken out papers for the three Town Council seats, but have not returned them — incumbents David Livengood and Denise Clemence and newcomer Jean Heid, while another quasi-newcomer, Lauren McLaughlin, took them out for the School Committee.
