CHARLTON — Dozens of local residents came out for the Dudley-Charlton Regional School Committee's public hearing Wednesday, March 28, on the district's fiscal 2013 budget at Charlton Middle School.

Superintendent Sean Gilrein and finance director William Trifone presented to the public and the committee a proposed fiscal 2013 budget of $45,925,637, which is 3 percent higher than the fiscal 2012 budget, despite the fact that district received $1.1 million in federal grants this year, which will not be available next year.
