March 28, 2012
SOUTHBRIDGE — "Several 911 calls" reporting gunshots sent police en masse to the Charlton/Lyons Street neighborhood around 6 p.m. Sunday, March 25.

Upon arrival, they found no one had been hurt, but both the alleged shooter and his victim had fled. Several witnesses identified a neighborhood resident as the shooter, and police tracked him down in his car on Hook Street a few minutes later.

According to Dudley District Court records, Abner Gutierrez, of 169 Charlton St., pled not guilty at arraignment Monday and was released on $200 bail, subject to an order to stay away from the victim. He was charged with assault with a weapon (gun), gun possession without an FID and discharging a gun within 500 feet of a building.
