March 26, 2012 SOUTHBRIDGE — As the national anthem was sung at a naturalization ceremony at the Memorial Auditorium in Lowell last week, Margarita Gil said she got the chills.
That's because among the 3,000 immigrants proudly singing along to the song on stage, having just been sworn in as American citizens, was her son, William "Willy" Rivera.
"It was just so, so emotional," she said, barely choking back tears. "I am so excited and so proud."
