Selectmen speak out in support of CPA plans

STURBRIDGE — At its Feb. 27 meeting, the Board of Selectmen expressed its unanimous support of the 11-year-old Community Preservation Act.

Last week, a citizen petition calling for the revocation of the CPA was submitted to Town Clerk Lorraine Murawski, who is still in the process of certifying the signatures. If 327 signatures are approved, residents at the April 9 town election will be asked to cast their votes on the issue. Murawski declined to provide an estimated time of completion for the certification of the signatures.

Meanwhile, selectmen are standing by the CPA.
