STURBRIDGE — After serving nearly one year on the Board of Selectmen, Angeline Ellison announced on Tuesday, Feb. 21 that she would not run for re-election in April.

Ellison, who claimed the seat vacated by former Selectman Edward Goodwin last spring, is expected to be replaced by Mary Redetzke. As of 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 — the deadline to submit papers to the town clerk — no other residents had registered to run for a position on the board, meaning Redetzke and Chairman Thomas Creamer will likely run unopposed for the two open seats. Creamer's current three-year term expires this year.

Ellison said she remains interested in town politics and will probably run for a position on a town board or committee in the future.
