SOUTHBRIDGE — If you have something you want the state to work into its budget, you should be making your case to the Legislature now.

That's one of the takeaways from last Friday's Legislative Breakfast at the Jacob Edwards Library, an event mostly geared for library advocates to make such cases and the legislators to say they support the ideas, but ...

"We're seeing all competing interests, and everybody has a good case," said State Rep. Peter Durant (R-Spencer). "Just because we're doing better than a lot of states doesn't mean we're doing well."
