Head Start celebrates 20th anniversary

'You see your little kid's face and they glow'

February 22, 2012
SOUTHBRIDGE — Ten years ago, Melissa Trinidad wasn't quite sure what to do to ensure her son had the best opportunity for an education.

Then she got a knock on the door, and it proved to be a representative from Head Start.

"I was so young when I had Joshua — I was 17," she said. "... My son had a hard time making friends, so our advocate made an effort to make sure he had a friend in his classroom" when he went to the public schools.
