CHPT holds annual meeting

Working to 'promote the natural beauty in town'

February 21, 2012
CHARLTON — The Charlton Heritage Preservation Trust (CHPT) held its annual meeting last weekend, giving attendees a glimpse into the properties they've protected over the past year and forging ahead with plans for the upcoming one.

The CHPT, founded in 1999 by a group of volunteers in town dedicated to preserving Charlton land, is a land trust that Vice President Lisa Westwell said works to "promote the natural beauty in town."

This means preserving open and scenic land, waters, streams, and wetlands, and even historic sites around Charlton.
