What a difference a year makes.

There was so much snow piled up last February that many roofs collapsed and residents hurried to the hardware stores to buy snow rakes before they sold out. One year later and the ground has remained devoid of snow for most of the winter while temperatures have consistently soared well into the 40s and 50s.

Many people have enjoyed the easy winter, but it has been tough sledding — or no sledding at all — for snow lovers. Ice fishermen have been limited in their opportunities, and many residents have had to keep their snowmobiles in the garage. The lack of snow has also stripped plow drivers of additional chances for pay.
