SOUTHBRIDGE — After a bit of a rough start in January, the new Bylaw Review Committee opted to consult a couple people who had done it themselves to pick a path forward.

"Our first meeting, we were all going in different directions," said Chairman Leonard Laporte, the former fire chief.

That's why they called in Police Chief Dan Charette and Councilor Larry Spinelli, who were among the five people who spent nearly two years revising the bylaws in 2005 and 2006. The other three were Karen Pickarski, Karen Loin and the late Peter Ramirez.
