Union drops complaint over Gillmeister comments

February 07, 2012
BROOKFIELD — To Tantasqua Regional School Committee member William Gillmeister, it came down to following policy.

The Tantasqua teachers' union filed a complaint against the Brookfield resident following comments he made in October on lessons offered by high school teacher Michael Pratt on the French Revolution.

Tantasqua Education Association President James Boland told Stonebridge Press Jan. 30 the "legislative branch" of the group "decided to drop it because there's bigger fish to fry," such as negotiations on a new contract. The current three-year pact with the district expires Aug. 30.
