New group forming for parents of special needs kids

SOUTHBRIDGE — Parenting a child with autism, other behavioral issues or psychiatric concerns is often a stressful and lonely endeavor.

But it also tends to make dedicated parents something of an expert on their children's issues.

Michelle Cook and Amaret Johnson know that from experience. Cook's younger daughter has autism, while Johnson has family members with other disabilities and years of experience working or volunteering in the field.
