CHARLTON — After spending the week tending to tummy aches and comforting kids with colds, Heritage School nurse Marilyn Gerrard will spend her Friday night getting ready to care for even more townspeople over the weekend.

She'll be in the kitchen, cooking a big pot of chili and putting together sandwiches and desserts, preparing for the Charlton City United Methodist Church's monthly Community Café, which will take place Saturday, Jan. 28, at 12 p.m., at the church.

"Methodist people love food and love eating," she laughed. "A big part of what we do is sharing that love with people."
