Superintendent search committee formed

Committee 'passionate about choosing the right person'

December 26, 2011
STURBRIDGE — Members of the Tantasqua Regional School District voted on Tuesday, Dec. 20 to approve a motion that calls for the creation of a 13-person search committee for the district's next superintendent.

The committee will consist of TRSC Chairman James Cooke, Union 61 Chair Patricia Barnicle, five members from the Tantasqua side of the district, five members from the Union 61 side of the committee, and TRSD Business Manager Deborah Boyd. The members from Tantasqua and Union 61 will be chosen by their respective chairs.

"There are more members on my side who would like to serve on the committee than I can appoint, which is a good thing," said Cooke, who realizes that he will have some difficult decisions to make. "Everyone wants to be a part of this committee and is passionate about choosing the right person to be our next superintendent."
