Area churches offering full slate of services

December 22, 2011
Area churches always receive many guests during their Christmas services, but this year's programs are expected to be especially well attended because Christmas day will fall on a Sunday.

The Holland Congregational Church will hold a Christmas Eve service at Tantasqua Regional High School at 6 p.m. This service typically attracts between 400 and 500 guests, and one of its highlights will be a reading from legendary Boston Red Sox announcer Carl Beane. In addition, former Holland resident and country singer Joel Crouse will perform music for guests. Crouse, who has been working with accomplished producer Jamie Houston in Nashville, Tenn., is preparing to release his first record album next summer.

"Carl does a reading for us every year on Christmas Eve, and we are looking forward to a great service with the musical programs," said Crouse's father, Senior Pastor Tom Crouse. "We usually get people to come to our Christmas Eve service from all over, including towns like Auburn and Charlton. It is a special event that everyone can attend."
