STURBRIDGE — Tantasqua Regional High School's November Students of the Month not only excelled in the classroom, but also participated in several programs and took on leadership roles during their high school careers.

Emily King and Maleek Wedderburn were given an early Christmas gift on Tuesday, Dec. 6, as they learned that administrators had chosen them as the November Students of the Month.

"I have enjoyed being a part of many programs and collaborating with other students," said King, a North Brookfield school choice student. "It is a lot of fun to come up with different ideas, share them with students, and always try to improve the school environment."

In addition to serving on Student Council, participating in the National Honor Society, and assisting her class as vice president, King is also a 4-year varsity tennis player. She has narrowed down her college list to about ten schools, and she is hoping to pursue a degree in business or international studies at a Massachusetts institution.
