CHARLTON — Looking around at the shelves at the Chip-In Food Pantry, overflowing with boxed and canned food, Darlene Emco Rollins smiled.

"Christmas is going be good this year," said Rollins, the pantry's volunteer executive director.

But she wasn't always so sure.

A couple of months ago, when the number of families registered at Chip-In jumped considerably, Rollins said she worried about the pantry's ability to serve them all.
