SOUTHBRIDGE — After surpassing their fundraising goal by $18,000, organizers for the local Relay for Life are turning their sights on what many in the Hispanic community know to be a memorable day in one's life — la quinceanera.

That's because the overnight anti-cancer walkathon is celebrating its 15th birthday next June.

Event co-chairman Ray Fournier, however, doesn't really expect to see anything unusual happen alongside the already-extensive buildup area teams do for it.

"We tried to do a lot of that for our 10th anniversary, but it didn't go over well," he said.
