Counseling offered at library for tornado victims

October 20, 2011
STURBRIDGE — The devastating June 1 tornado is long gone, but the scars they left on the land and on residents remain.

Members of the MassSupport Network have spent the last five months providing assistance and counseling to residents throughout central and western Massachusetts who were affected by the tornadoes.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, MassSupport Network counselors will travel to the Joshua Hyde Public Library to deliver a presentation about stress management and maintaining wellness in the wake of a natural disaster. This free program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the State Department of Mental Health, members of the MassSupport Network have met with hundreds of residents in tornado-ravaged communities.
