DUDLEY — Back on Sept. 19, 2008, Auburn High lost to Winthrop High in the second game of the season.

No one expected what would come of Auburn's program over the next three years.

There were 41 consecutive wins, three straight Super Bowl titles, and two undefeated seasons. However, the 1,086-day streak ended Friday, Oct. 7, as Shepherd Hill defeated the Rockets, 32-22.

Auburn (4-1) found itself in a tough situation right from the opening drive. After two fumbles and an intentional grounding penalty, Auburn had a third-and-61 from their own 2-yard line. Things only got worse as they fumbled the ball and lost possession on their next drive.
