STURBRIDGE — Burgess Elementary School students will be treated to a special event on Wednesday, Oct. 12, as popular artist and entertainer Richard Hight will deliver two presentations as part of his program titled “The Art of Inspiration.”

Hight’s first presentation for kindergarteners through third graders will take place at 9 a.m. in the new gymnasium, while his second presentation (grades 4-6) is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. in the new gymnasium. Students and school officials are excited to see what creative and intriguing features he has planned for the presentation.

“He is a renowned inspirational keynote speaker who uses the fine arts to creatively communicate positive, life-changing messages,” said Burgess Elementary School Principal Daniel Carlson. “Richard’s presentation begins with the dramatic and exciting creation of a stunning sketch of a feature subject on an eight foot canvas. Students are enchanted by the powerful illustration, words and music in a matter of moments.”

At the conclusion of the assembly, which is being sponsored by the Burgess Elementary School PTO, school officials will keep Hight’s creation to display as a reminder of the positive and inspirational messages he conveys.
