SOUTHBRIDGE — Little Sarah Williams, 4, is “very upset” that Friendly’s on Main Street suddenly closed last week.

“We think we might have gotten one of the last ice creams out of the place the day before it closed,” said her mom, Meagan Saucier, 22.

The duo ate there about twice a month, largely because “my budget’s not the greatest” and it was “one of the nicer restaurants in walking distance,” Saucier said Thursday, Oct. 6.

Judy Ferguson, owner of Village Photo a few doors down from the shuttered restaurant, said she watched the “employees doing the final close” Wednesday night, Oct. 5, followed by the removal of its sign Thursday morning.
