SOUTHBRIDGE — The Patrick Donnelly Foundation will host its third annual Evening Social event on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Pilsudski Polish American Club.

Residents are invited to enjoy a night of dancing, food, raffles, a silent auction, karaoke, and other entertainment, as all proceeds will benefit the Patrick Donnelly Memorial Scholarship given each year to a Tantasqua Regional High School senior who plans to attend Westfield State University the next fall.

"This is going to be a fun night for guests to gather in memory of Pat and raise money for the scholarship," said Donnelly's mother, Kathleen Johnson. "It's a great opportunity to keep paying it forward like Pat always did."

Johnson established the Patrick Donnelly Foundation to pay tribute to the legacy of her son, who was murdered in Florida in September of 2008. Donnelly moved to Sturbridge when he was seven years old and became a standout basketball player on the Tantasqua Regional High School varsity basketball team. After graduating from TRHS, Donnelly continued his studies at Westfield State College.
