STURBRIDGE — Members of the Joshua Hyde Public Library aren't horsing around when it comes to fundraising for an upcoming renovation of its children's department.

On Sunday, Sept. 18, the library will hold a horseback trail ride fundraiser called Happy Trails for Happy Tales.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. at Old Sturbridge Village, and registration is scheduled to take place at 7 a.m. Participants are asked to bring their own horses, and they may arrive prior to 7 a.m. in order to prepare for the ride. The cost of the ride is $35, ten of which will go to OSV for hosting the event.

"Our children's librarian Pat Lalli has worked very hard to prepare for this ride," said Joshua Hyde Public Library Director Becky Plimpton. "She owns horses and has participated in several trail rides in the past, and she thought it would be a great idea for the library to organize its own ride to raise money for the renovations."
