SOUTHBRIDGE — The staff at Harrington Hospital is going above and beyond their duties to raise money to give the children's wing of the hospital a facelift by hosting the first Harrington Healthcare on Parade variety show at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at Southbridge High School.

The show is largely organized by Bhish Sharma, who works in the registration department of the hospital. He got together with three other staff members to decide how the event would take shape, the advertising and what acts would perform.

"It took from August to October to get the permits from the town," said Sharma. "I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time. I used to live in Trinidad, where I did a lot of shows like this, public relations type of thing. I was quite successful at it actually. I started working at Harrington in 1996 and left and came back two years ago."

To go even further and to raise more money, door prizes, a bake sale and raffles will take place at the event as well.
