Brimfield COA to host plethora of senior events

April 10, 2011
BRIMFIELD — The Brimfield Council on Aging (BCOA) has seen a marked increase in guests over the last year due to the exciting events and programs it offers. Its April schedule of events provides several more reasons to join the fun.

The BCOA will host bingo programs on April 13 and 27 beginning at 10:30 a.m. These events have become very popular over the last few months, as the competition is tough and the prizes are very interesting. Residents are invited to bring a friend along for everyone's favorite five-letter game.

On Friday, April 15, the BCOA will show "Nanny McPhee Returns" on the big screen, with free popcorn being offered to all who watch this flick about a woman who uses a bizarre combination of magic and discipline to help a friend take care of the house while her husband is away serving his country in World War II.

For those who enjoy arts and crafts, Nancy Peloquin has been rescheduled to show off her handmade bath salts on Thursday, April 21 at 11:30 a.m. The 26-year Brimfield resident was announced by the BCOA as its February Artist and Crafter of the Month, but she was unable to show her bath salts due to illness.

"We are excited to have a chance to see Nancy's bath salts. It was unlucky that she wasn't able to come in February," said BCOA Director Gina Lynch.
