STURBRIDGE — The Federated Church of Sturbridge and Fiskdale will host a spaghetti supper on Saturday, April 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. to help one of its members, Sandi Bostrom, pay for her upcoming mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

Bostrom, who has traveled to the Dominican Republic and Haiti for the last eight consecutive years with members of the Good Samaritan Mission Counsel in Holden, will be accompanied by her daughter, Melinda Kristoff, and her grandson, Travis Richardson, a senior at Tantasqua Regional High School. This will be the second straight visit to the Dominican Republic for Kristoff, while Travis is excited about his first ever trip to that country.

"In the past we have helped medical teams set up pharmacies and assisted people in any way we could," said Bostrom. "We have provided medical supplies, vitamins and clothing, and we even helped the people there build filters to purify water."

During many of her trips Bostrom and her fellow humanitarians from the Good Samaritan Mission Counsel spent hours riding out into the countryside in old school buses in order to reach the people they hoped to assist.
