Town goes over projected budget scenarios

SOUTHBRIDGE — Town Manager Christopher Clark presented his fiscal 2012 budget at a Town Council meeting Monday night, March 28.

The presentation included data as far back as 2007 for revenues and expenses. Town budgets from the past five years have not changed drastically, as the revenues in 2007 were $41,748,710 and will be $46,644,249 in 2012. 2009's revenues were the highest of the past five years, coming in at $47,518,641.

The largest difference in 2009's revenues was the amount of free cash, coming in at $4,194,069. The year 2012 will be the lowest amount for free cash in the past five years, coming in at an even $1 million.

The expenses of 2009 matched the revenues, with 2009 being the highest. The expenses for 2007 came in at $41,748,710. The upcoming fiscal year expenses come in at $46,644,249.

The total town operating costs have risen roughly $4 million in the past five years, with $16,763,526 in 2007 and $20,643,655.
