SOUTHBRIDGE — You can't keep a good man down.

Despite vowing that last month's town councilor special election would be his last attempt at the seat, Gary Fontaine has already returned papers and the necessary amount of signatures to be eligible for the June 18 Town Council election.

"I know I said the night of the election that I was done, but I've had numerous people ask to me reconsider," said Fontaine. "I've thought about it every day since the day after the election. I talked it over with my family and decided to go forward and take out papers."

Larry Spinelli won the special election in February, scoring 981 votes to Fontaine's 813 with only six write-ins and four blank entries. With a 15 percent voter turnout, 1,804 of the 12,184 registered town voters punched their cards.
