CAC positions to be filled

March 09, 2011
STURBRIDGE — Some tech-savvy employees will likely be hired by mid-April, as the Board of Selectmen voted Monday night, March 7, to support the Cable Advisory Committee's (CAC) proposed staffing plan.

"We would like to combine the future part-time Production Coordinator position requirements with the Cable Access Coordinator position requirements to establish one full-time position with benefits for immediate hire," said CAC Chairman Don Fairbrother, who presented the committee's staffing plan to the board.

Since the Cable Access Coordinator duties are expected to be performed by the future production coordinator, members of the CAC decided to defer hiring a Cable Access coordinator until workload warrants and the budget allow such a hiring to take place. Meanwhile, the committee is focusing on establishing a part-time scheduler clerk position to perform scheduling of operators and equipment for meeting recordings, updating the Community Bulletin Board, and arranging DVD playback schedules.

"The production coordinator would report to the town administrator, and the scheduler clerk would report to the production coordinator," added Fairbrother.
