STURBRIDGE — The Comfort Inn & Suites Colonial Hotel recently enjoyed a five-star honor, earning the 2010 Gold Hospitality Award from Choice Hotels International Inc., one of the world's largest hospitality holding corporations.

"The Comfort Inn & Suites Colonial Hotel's commitment to excellence and outstanding guest service has earned it this well-deserved recognition as one of the best hotels among the Comfort brand," said Steve Joyce, the president and chief executive officer of Choice Hotels International, the parent company of the Comfort Inn & Suites Colonial Hotel. "We here at Choice Hotels are very proud to award this distinguished honor to the Comfort Inn & Suites Colonial Hotel."

One of the major reasons why the Comfort Inn & Suites Colonial Hotel was selected for this award over more than 4,900 of the company's other franchised hotels in the United States is because it ranks among the top 10 percent of properties within the Comfort Inn brand. In addition, the hotel is one of only two hotels within the state of Massachusetts (and one of 94 hotels within the Comfort brand) to achieve the "Gold Award" status. According to Joyce, the hotel has demonstrated an exceptional focus on guest satisfaction and dedication to providing superior service. Additional award criteria were evaluated by Choice Hotels through its official property ranking reports.
