SOUTHBRIDGE — Eastford Road School students brought some sunshine in the midst of the cold winter during its Winter Snow Choral Show Friday, Jan. 28.

The performance, which had all 20 kindergarten and first grade classes performing, featured songs about winter and snow.

Four shows were held, as students performed at 9 and 10 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m. Each show had five different classes, with each one having a mixture of kindergarten and first grade classes. The school has pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and the first grade. The show was under the direction of music teacher Pamela Goodnow.

Principal Diane Shaw said she likes to see the blending of the grades, as students in the different grades only see each other normally at recess.

"When I first came to the school, I was informed how some people were complaining about how their families don't celebrate Christmas," said Shaw, who officially became principal in July. "Since there is still a transition with the faculty, we were a little behind on whether or not we would could have a holiday show in time. We thought in regards to those families who don't celebrate Christmas, we'll have this winter concert instead."
